If you had to give yourself a "DJ Name" what would it be? Meechie
One little known fact about you? I will never turn down free food
What is your all-time favorite song? I have too many but lately I'm fond of Walkabout by Red Hot Chili Peppers
If you weren't a wedding DJ, what other career path could you see yourself in? If I wasn't a wedding DJ, I'd be a musician, entrepreneur, or an architect.
If you could be any particular singer or musician, who would you be? I would be Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, or John Frusciante because they have established a lasting impact on music in their eras. They have such an extended influence in different types of music, which would give me a multi-dimensional approach to music.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I love to hike, canoe, playing sports (mainly rugby sevens), play music (guitar player), frisbee golf, attend museums, mountain bike, recently have fallen in love with snowboarding, play hockey, cook, listen to music, and meet new people.
If your life was a song what would the title be? Expansion and Progression
How would you describe your emcee style? Amicable, altruistic and adaptive. I like to cater to the client as much as possible.
What do you do to create that WOW factor at a wedding? I would create an atmosphere that is well-suited to the wedded couple and integrated the crowd to provide an overall unforgettable experience.
Tell me about the best dance you've ever attended. I remember attending prom at the Minneapolis Convention Center. It was remarkable in the aspect of presentation and fluidity. The music involved a majority of the people, the aesthetics of the building improved quality, and the events were coordinated in such a way that the audience didn't notice any delay or lost interest.
What do you do to motivate the crowd if no one is dancing? It would be heavily dependent on analyzing the crowd, and how they react to certain songs. I would incorporate group songs to bring about a larger presence on the dance floor. I would also play familiar songs to get people involved.
Favorite artist/group? Anything from the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bassnectar. I'm just fond of music as a collective. If the music has contrast, deeper meanings/overtones, appeals to the ear, and can move me.
