If you had to give yourself a "DJ Name" what would it be? DJ UpBeat
One little known fact about you? I secretly love country music.
What is your all-time favorite song? Thriller by Michael jackson
If you weren't a wedding DJ, what other career path could you see yourself in? I would be a Freelance Musician. I've been playing the drums for 24 years and would love to be doing that full time!
If you could be any particular singer or musician, who would you be? why? Justin Timberlake. His voice is so distinctly his, and he has great respect for the artists that came before him. And his live shows are spectacular!!
What do you like to do in your spare time? I'm a big fan of platformer video games (Mario, Kirby, Rayman, etc.) and play them with my son all the time. My family is currently on a mission to visit all of the great parks in the Twin Cities!
If your life was a song what would the title be? When One Door Closes, A Window Opens
How would you describe your emcee style? i am a cross between a theme park performer and a stadium announcer. Equal parts energy, earnestness, and enthusiasm.
What's the best compliment a bride or groom has ever given you post show? I have been complimented on my ability to engage people of all ages and walks of life in the same show.
What do you do to create that WOW factor at a wedding? To create wedding WOW factor, I would focus dance on celebrating the relationship of the bridge and groom. I love to tell stories, and subtly telling the story of the couple through songs leaves a lasting memory.
Tell me about the best wedding you've ever DJ'ed. The best dance I've ever DJ'ed was for an Early Childhood Education group. I had to find a fine line between music for the young children and music for their parents, as well as music that would encourage them to dance and play together. It turned out brilliantly, with many of the patrons coming up to me to express how much fun they had.
What do you do to motivate the crowd if no one is dancing? Changing up the music always seems to help get people dancing. I would use a popular dance song as a jumping off point, and hype that popular song is coming up on the mic. I would continue with similar songs, and branch out once the dance going strong.
Favorite artist/group? And why? Justin Timberlake. His music is infectious, his love shows are amazing, and he is genuinely a great person.
