If you had to give yourself a "DJ Name" what would it be? Stretch
One little known fact about you? My right ear is flat with my head.
What is your all-time favorite song? Ballroom Blitz - Sweet
If you weren't a wedding DJ, what other career path could you see yourself in? I would see myself teaching music to children and adults. Otherwise I see myself out playing part time gigs with other musicians.
If you could be any particular singer or musician, who would you be?
Stevie Wonder. He is multi talented and created a whole new style of pop music and composition techniques. Behind blind might be hard to comprehend, but at least he comes with an insane voice.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Most of my free time is spent practicing bass guitar, or rehearsing with other musicians. But if i'm not doing either of those, you'll find me painting and drawing in my room.
If your life was a song what would the title be? 6'5 With Your Left Foot Forward
How would you describe your emcee style? I think my emcee style would be a 5 out of 10 in terms of energy and enthusiasm. I like to be engaging and forward, but you won't be seeing me jump up and down yelling in a microphone.
What's the best compliment a bride or groom has ever given you post show?
My best compliments so far have been about the request sheet. Past bride and grooms have really enjoyed that I work with their friends and family to provide music that they would like to hear as well.
What do you do to create that WOW factor at a wedding? I like to throw out some of the old school hits that people don't really expect to hear. I will play whatever is requested from the bride, groom, and other party guests. But if I see any kind of pattern I like to throw a couple of curveballs.
Tell me about the best wedding you've ever DJ'ed. The best wedding i've DJ'd was at the Minneapolis Event Center. It was a crowd of 250 and I was very nervous about what would be happening. The crowd was young and helped me figure out top Pop songs that everyone liked, they were all happy and on the floor through the night.
What do you do to motivate the crowd if no one is dancing? Slow dances are a great way to get people out, along with group dances that everyone can recognize. If none of those work, Michael Jackson is a pretty good way to get people back.
Favorite artist/group? The Gorillaz. I heard "Demon Dayz" when I was about 12 and I couldn't stop listening to the album. They were a group that really pushed me to pursue music on a personal level. I can't think of any group that sticks out to me more.
