I've been in love with music my entire life. It started with humble beginnings at the Whelan family piano. We would sing along to The Monkees and Simon & Garfunkel with my mom while listening to my dad sing and play Gordon Lightfoot tunes on his acoustic guitar. In school, I sang in choir, played drums, and spent eighth grade jamming in the music room during lunchtime. In high school, I started my own rock band, wrote lyrics and melodies, recorded and released two full-length EPs of original music, and played live shows all over southeast Wisconsin.
When I discovered Bellagala, I quickly learned the difference between a disc jockey (some dude with speakers), and a music facilitator (a polished, skilled professional), and aspired to the latter. After a few hard lessons, I was named “Rookie of the Year” in 2005, and “Most Valuable DJ” in 2006. I worked over the summer for Bellagala as a studio intern in 2005, and later became DJ Division Manager from 2006 until late 2007.
I’m married now, with three beautiful, active little boys. As an IT Project Manager, I am reminded every day about the importance of planning. Flawless execution of an event takes preparation and focus on my part – but from your perspective, I want it to seem effortless. Let’s work together to craft the perfect event. Then let’s hit the dance floor and party up!
