If you had to give yourself a "DJ Name" what would it be? Timothy Paul
One little known fact about you? I write music and play the guitar.
What is your all-time favorite song? "Lights" by Journey
If you weren't a wedding DJ, what other career path could you see yourself in? My ideal career would be a full time musician; I believe music is the one thing that brings people together no matter what situation. Music has a magical influence that can change the mood in a heartbeat; I strive to write music that can do that.
If you could be any particular singer or musician, who would you be? Why? I admire many musicians and singers; Jason Wade (Lifehouse) is a great singer, and a guitarist like Jimmy Hendrix is great people to learn from. But, I would want to be myself as a musician 10 years from now; as an artist, I want to be myself.
What do you like to do in your spare time? In my spare time I like to play the guitar or write music. I also like to write stories. Sometimes I create my own board game or card game to help myself think out side of the box when it comes to writing. I love to create something out of nothing.
If your life was a song what would the title be? 'Ever so low, keep on going", There have been many ups and downs in my life, more so the downs, but I never let myself become that low person. I only want to learn from my mistakes and hardships, and grow into a person of humble and honest character.
How would you describe your emcee style? I am very energetic, maybe a little goofy, but not crazy. I like to connect with people and engage with them to carry on the fun and excitement and be a part of something greater.
What's the best compliment a bride or groom has ever given you post show? I performed the ceremony music with my acoustic guitar, outside while it rained, and I thought that it all went horribly wrong for them, but the Bride and Groom came up to me and said, "Your music made all this weather disappear, it was comforting".
What do you do to create that WOW factor at a wedding? Making people feel welcomed and comfortable to dance, be that person that is always smiling, greeting, asking for more service than what I am required to do, and making the music and lights reflect on the energy that everyone is giving.
Tell me about the best dance you've ever attended and why it was great. My sisters wedding was the best dance I've been to. The DJ was nice and catering to everyone. Not only that, but the music was easily recognizable so everyone knew what the dances were, or even if they didn't, they still danced. I don't think the dance floor was ever empty that night.
What do you do to motivate the crowd if no one is dancing? Either changing the song to something more comfortable that a group of people would dance to; check in with the Bride and Groom and ask if there was something I could do differently, or put on a good song and walk out to encourag others to dance, if able.
Favorite artist/group? And why? Journey and Goo Goo Dolls, the music they write can change your emotion so much; there's a personal connection between the lyrics and the music that can't be ignored once it all speaks to you.
