The historic Turnblad Mansion and contemporary Nelson Cultural Center are the perfect settings for weddings, business meetings, private parties and special events. Host Your Special Event at the American Swedish Institute In the Mansion, the Grand Hall and Salon are perfect for small, intimate ceremonies and receptions, with the option of opening the Mansion for viewing as part of your event. Paulson Hall, in the lower level of the Mansion, is suited for dinners and presentations for 100 people and under. It is located adjacent to two classrooms that can be used for breakout sessions or prepatory rooms. The smaller, newly rennovated Stuga room may also be booked for meetings or luncheons. The Mansion Verandah and Front Lawn may also be used in conjunction with rentals for ceremonies and receptions. The contemporary Nelson Cultural Center, which opened in 2012, provides a variety of flexible and functional spaces. Larson Hall, on the upper level, is the largest, ranging from 250 capacity for seated dinners to 400 for lectures, receptions or concerts. The Hopper Terrace is a small outdoor space overlooking the courtyard for those seeking a breath of fresh air. On the main floor, next to FIKA Cafe, the Folke Bernadotte conference room is ideal for meetings and talks for between 20 and 60 people, or smaller seated luncheons and dinners. The Studio Classroom is a more hands-on space for workshops and demonstrations. The ASI Courtyard, with a capacity of between 200-500, provides a charming outdoor alternative combining slate paving and grass for weddings, receptions and events of all sorts.
